KRISTINE BALLARD

Sydney based, Kristine Ballard is a successful artist, designer and art educator. Travelling the world in the footsteps of many great artists, Kristine Ballard had completed numerous art residencies including the

Art Students League of New York and Monsalvate, Australia’s oldest art colony. She has exhibited internationally and locally throughout the gallery system, and in countless competitions.

Ballard’s themes continue to explore our human connections to the environment. This time she applies it to the European seas. Her new investigation of ‘person to place’ focuses on Venice. A city founded on self improvement, it remains a centre for freedom, independence, rivalry, escapism and pure creativity.

This exibition was inspired by her recent art residency in Venice, where she will be returning in 2015.

Adding credit to Kristine's impressive wealth of artistic talent, she has recently been selected as a finalist in the 2014 Heysen Prize for Interpretation of Place. October 3 – November 30 at the Handorf Academy, 68 Main St. Hahndorf, South Australia.
